Turkey has seen an uptick in British tourists returning since it was removed from the UK’s red list, with airlines such as Jet2 and TUI resuming flights and holidays. However, in order to visit the hotspot, Britons are required to meet certain requirements put in place by the Turkish Government.
What are the entry rules for fully vaccinated Britons visiting Turkey?
Arrivals must have received their final jab 14 days or more previously.
According to the FCDO, the Turkish authorities are recognising the NHS app and certificate as evidence of vaccination.
However, it states: “Your NHS appointment card from vaccination centres is not designed to be used as proof of vaccination and should not be used to demonstrate your vaccine status.”
Vaccinated arrivals must also complete Turkey’s online form for travel within the 72 hours before arriving in Turkey.
The form can be accessed on the Turkish Ministry of Health website.

What are the entry rules for unvaccinated Britons visiting Turkey?
Britons who have only received one vaccine or have not been vaccinated are still permitted to enter Turkey, but must they have either recently recovered from COVID-19 or have a negative result from a Covid test.
According to the FCDO, Turkey is accepting PCR tests taken within 72 hours of arrival or rapid antigen tests taken within 48 hours of arrival.
Lateral flow tests are a form of rapid antigen test.
For children aged 11 and under, no PCR test or vaccination certificate is needed.
The Turkish authorities have confirmed they will accept the UK’s proof of COVID-19 recovery for those who have previously had the virus.
However, fully-vaccinated passengers must pre-book and arrange a PCR test to be taken on day two of their return.
The Government has suggested that from later this month these PCR tests will be scrapped in favour of lateral flows, however, a date has not yet been specified.
Unvaccinated passengers are now required to quarantine when returning from Turkey.
They must also take a pre-departure Covid test, as well as pre-book and pay for PCR tests to be taken on days two and eight of their self-isolation.
All arrivals into the UK, regardless of vaccination status, must complete a passenger locator form.
