Monthly deep clean
Every month, set a date to give your washing machine some TLC.
Start by removing the detergent drawer, soaking it in hot soapy water and giving it a good scrub in the sink.
Clean the drawer slot with a brush on a stick or a battery-powered cleaning brush to make sure you can reach as far in as possible.
You’ll also need to clean and empty the filter. This part is super satisfying as you can watch the smelly water draining out into a bucket and tip it away.
You may find all sorts of junk caught in the filter, from hair clips to coins.
Then, tackle the fungus and bacteria hotspot – the door seal! Dri Pak recommends using white vinegar in a spray bottle here and wiping away the mouldy spots with a clean cloth or disposable towel.
Don’t forget to wipe down the exterior, we touch these buttons all the time and yet always forget to disinfect them.
