A food recall is issued by a supermarket, brand, or company when a product is unsafe to eat. The product is withdrawn from shelves in case it causes harm to certain individuals. Below is the full list of current food recalls from major UK supermarkets including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Aldi.
Tesco
Tesco, like several other supermarkets, is recalling a variety of raw pastry products because a presence of salmonella has been found.
The products were manufactured by BakeAway, which first informed customers of the food recalls.
If eaten, the products could cause serious illness because they have been found to contain salmonella.
Salmonella symptoms typically include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps.
The products sold at Tesco, but which are now being withdrawn from shelves, are listed below.
Tesco Finest Butter Enriched Ready Roll Puff Pastry with a pack size of 320g and a use by date of January 14, 2022.
Tesco Pizza Dough with a pack size of 400g and a use by date of January 17, 2022.
Tesco Ready Roll Puff Pastry with a pack size of 375g and a use by date of January 24, 2022.
Tesco Ready Roll Puff Pastry with a pack size of 375g and a use by date of January 25, 2022.
The supermarket is asking customers to return the products to their nearest store for a full refund.

Sainsbury’s
Like Tesco, Sainsbury’s is recalling raw pastry products because of the presence of salmonella.
The products being recalled are By Sainsbury’s Ready Roll Puff Pastry, with a pack size of 375g and a use by date of January 17, 2022, and By Sainsbury’s Ready Roll Puff Pastry, with a pack size of 375g and a use by date of January 21, 2022.
Additionally, the supermarket is recalling Pizza Express Pre Rolled Dough 400g, Pizza Express Ready to Roll Dough 400g, Galberts Shortcrust Pastry 375g, Galberts Puff Pastry 375g, Jus Rol Chilled Puff Block 500g, and Jus-Rol Frozen Shortcrust Block 1000g.
Sainsbury’s stated on its website: “We are recalling the above products because Salmonella has been found.
“We are asking customers who have purchased the above products to not consume and return it to their nearest Sainsbury’s store, where they will receive a full refund.”

Asda
Again, because of salmonella, Asda is recalling a number of raw pastry products, which are listed below.
Asda Pizza Dough with a pack size of 400g and a use by date of January 15, 2022.
Asda Ready Roll Light Puff Pastry with a pack size of 375g and a use by date of January 16, 2022.
Asda Ready Roll Puff Pastry with a pack size of 375g and a use by date of January 24, 2022.
Morrisons
Morrisons is also recalling its own brand pastry products.
The supermarket, like the above, is asking customers not to eat the items and to return them to their nearest store.

Morrisons Pizza Dough with a pack size of 400g and a use by date of January 17, 2022.
Morrisons Ready Roll Light Puff Pastry with a pack size of 375g and a use by date of January 17, 2022.
Morrisons Puff Pastry Block with a pack size of 500g and a use by date of January 24, 2022.
Morrisons Puff Pastry Block with a pack size of 500g and a use by date of January 25, 2022.
Aldi
As well as Aldi Ready Roll Pizza with a pack size of 400g and a use by date of January 13, 2022, Aldi is recalling a popular chocolate due to an undeclared ingredient.
The Moser Roth The Collection Milk, White, and Dark Chocolates are being recalled because they contain egg which is not mentioned on the label.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.
The Moser Roth chocolates come in a pack 160g in size and all best before dates are affected.
Aldi said: “Our supplier is recalling this product because the product contains egg, which is not declared on the label.
“Customers who are allergic to egg should not consume the product and can return it to one of our stores for a full refund.”
Co-op
Yoplait’s Frubes Variety Pack, which are sold in Co-op stores, are being recalled because the item contains small pieces of metal.
There are nine Frubes in a pack, which is 37g in size, and with a use by date of February 9, 2022.
Yoplait said: “If you have a product with this use by date, do not eat it.
“Please instead, return it to the store where it was bought for a full refund (with or without a receipt).
“No other Yoplait or Frubes products are affected by this recall.”
The company added: “We are very sorry for any impact or inconvenience this may cause.”
